Supporting Physical activity

The promotion of physical activity at local levels must be further developed. The EU is increasingly proving its grasp of the need by multiplying actions of the likes of financing our PACTE project. Last summer, further proof of such political prioritizing was depicted by a call for proposals which aimed to support organisations promoting sport initiatives at a local level, with the objective of disseminating the positive values of sport.

Helping increase the number of physically active Europeans contributes not only to improved health and well-being, but further enables the creation of social cohesion, encourages cross-sector collaboration, and is a vehicle that may transport European values.

Active Local Europe

Among the 4 successful winners is Active Local Europe, led by the City of Leuven (BE)- their project involves several member cities from ANCI, one of our PACTE project partners.
